New England Advertising Photographer Lisa Wilder PhotographyAs a child I had one thing I cherished most, my Kodak camera. Taking pictures was always my passion, even in high school. My career choice for college was photography but my mother asked, “How will you ever make a living taking pictures?” That led me to a degree in Social Work while taking photography courses on the side.

While working as a counselor, I became friends with a sports and newspaper photographer. I was so intrigued, I put a portfolio together, set up a darkroom, and made some phone calls that landed me work with local newspapers and colleges. That was the start of my career as a photographer, but my creativity really flourished when I started working for an advertising photographer in CT along with freelancing for Filenes, Caldors, a catalog studio in MA and a catalog photographer in NYC.

Now, more than 19 years later, with 2 award winning photographs, a juried show winning photograph, acceptance into Images 2008 and having acquired the latest in digital equipment, I work for a wide variety of clients both in my studio and on location. Each of my clients has a message or story that they ask me to tell through my photographs. I collaborate closely with designers to tell that story. Key to telling the story compellingly, is my use of lighting to create just the right atmosphere to enhance the product and capture the viewers’ attention. My clients appreciate my knack for creating interesting set design through the use of textures, shapes, colors and props. I always stay within budget and work with tight deadlines while focusing high levels of energy and concentration to produce the perfect shot. I strive for perfection and put my passion for photography to work for each client.
